[edit] "Criticism of TCF Bank"

There are certainly some valid grounds on which TCF Bank could be criticized (practices regarding some fees, check cashing, etc.) but the "criticism" by 172.168.99.17 [1] is not encyclopedic but seems based on a frustrated customer experience ("Most TCF ATM machines on the University Of Minnesota campus have crappy visuals..."). TCF Bank is the only major bank (as far as I know) to provide online banking at the same time as they do not have an email-adress. Is this something that could be added to a critisism-section, or would it be considered too unencycliopedic? I'd like feedback before i possibly add it. --Alf 19:03, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

It is probably worth a comment, along with TCF's rationale (that email is not adequately secure, that customer verification is impossible). Cmadler 12:59, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

TCF is, at best, a mid-sized bank, and hardly qualifies as a major bank. When Dick Kovacevich moved to Norwest from Citi, Norwest was considered a mid-sized bank and had many more branches and larger assets than TCF.

I have never seen or heard any bank referred to as "major" in trade or scholarly publications. I think TCF is commonly considered a regional bank, and with the recent growth in Colorado and Arizona, perhaps verging on "superregional." Cmadler 21:06, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Merge

I have received oppisition to my proposition to merging TCF Bank and TCF Financial Corporation. What I suggest should happen is that all subsidaries should be put into TCF Financial Corporation. ComputerJoe 17:53, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
