TCDD E52500 is a series of electric locomotives used by the Turkish State Railways. The batch consisted of 22 units used throughout the electrified parts of the turkish rail network. The locomotives have a power output of 3,860 kW and are capable of 120 km/h.
The series is built Croatia by Končar or ASEA and delivered to TCDD in 1998-99, though two were also delivered in 2004-05. They are identical to ZBH 1143 usued by the Railways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ZBH) and Croatian Railways HZ 1141.3. The engines are based on the Swedish Rb design, later replacing the diodes with thyristor rectifiers, making the engines closely related to the Rc.
Two units were scrapped after the Tasvancil accident in 2004. The two replacement units delivered in 2004-05 have higher top speeds that the other units, who could only run at 140 km/h.
