I'm sorry for coming down so hard on you. I'm sure the lyrics pages were legitimate mistakes. The pages will simply be deleted and provided you don't go about posting copyrighted pages elsewhere, it'll just be chalked up to an understandable mistake. Don't sweat it, everyone makes mistakes from time to time. I do advise that you read the guidelines on copyright, though, as some things that people think are fair to use may not be. Please don't alter closed VfD/AfD discussions like you did on the Disney Channel songs list. It won't do anything useful and corrupts the database. There is a Votes for Undeletion channel you can go through if you feel that the article was wrongly deleted, but I rather doubt something with a more or less unanimous consensus for deletion is going to get restored. Well, I had no objection to the images themselves. They definitely look like they could belong in Wikipedia. What I was worried about was that you did not provide a copyright statement and since the images look very professional they led me to suspect that they might be copyrighted. (If they are we can't use them on Wikipedia, unless we are given permission by the copyright holder). Where did you get the images? Do you own them yourself or did you download them from a site? These things are (unfortunately) very important, since using copyrighted images without permission is illegal.

I think Category:Movies Rated PG is irrelevant because it is US-centric. A movie may have different ratings in other countries. Furthermore, how are you going to categorise a foreign movie that is rated PG in US — listing it under the rating in its original country or per US rating? Besides, in some countries, a movie may have two different ratings for its theatrical and DVD release. Please do not revert my introduction of a redirect to that article again. Most of the information in that article was already present on Most Wanted (Hilary Duff album). Like I said in my edit summary, there's no point whatsoever having the same information in two places. Closely related to this, they are essentially the same album: unless the main article became too big and had to be split off to reduce its size, there's no reason to have different articles on different versions of the same album. See In This Skin for an example of this.
Please use Template:Album infobox instead of raw syntax when editing album articles. It creates consistency among them, and is far easier to edit.
A lot of your edits do not conform to Wikipedia's manual of style. Please read the guidelines there. It's consensus; Tropical Storm Alpha got redirected to the main article. Tropical Storm Wilma also got redirected to the main article before it became huge. Let me rephrase myself. Wilma is no longer active, as the National hurricane Center has stopped issuing advisories. That is correct...the "Last storm dissipated" column is meant to determine when the last storm actually dissipated in the season. While the current date (October 25) is currently the date of the last storm, there are still 5 weeks left in hurricane season and 10 weeks left in 2005. True, Wilma is not active, but there are systems out there that could become Beta (and there could still be storms in November and - although unlikely - December). That should only be filled when the season/year is over and all storms have dissipated. CrazyC83 03:15, 26 October 2005 (UTC)

Also, I'm not sure about these path images you're uploading. They say copyrighted, but don't say by whom - which is equivalent to saying no source. There's no reason to get irate. All I said was, let's sit down like civilized people and discuss this. If your articles contain valuable information that doesn't exist on Southern United States, that information should be added to Southern United States. I don't think there is justification in creating a new set of articles just because you came up with a new way to divide the US. Thanks for liking the 2005 table. As for doing the previous years, I do NOT intend to do that at this time. However, what I can do instead is to create a toolkit for constructing them. This would be a set of templates that would be used to construct the table. An example can be seen in how the navigation button bar for the season is constructed. However, before I even do that I think that it would be wise to wait a few weeks and see how things settle out. That table is being updated in all sorts of interesting ways at this time, and until it has settled down doing the toolkit may not be a very good idea. (I am not interested in forcing people to edit templates to affect the table at this time. Later on they will be a powerful maintenance tool, but right now they will interfere with the finalization of the form of these tables.) --EMS | Talk 05:28, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

Hi, sorry to bother you, but I just wanted to point out that according to Wikipedia:Fair use#Policy we are not allowed to use unfree (so called "fair use") images on (among other things) user pages (because they are only legal for strictly encyclopedic usage). I'm referring to the albumcovers in the list of CD's you own. Please either remove all such images from your user page, or replace them with free licensed alternatives. Okay, it turns out that the album charts were cited but you made a great number of changes to the Singles chart while only providing citations for the U.S. chart positions. You claim, for example, that Complicated hit #1 in Canada, #3 in the United Kingdom, and #1 in Australia. Your citation provides support for your claims for the U.S. chart position but does not cite the positions in the other countries. This is a step forward, Tcatron565, but it is still short of what editors are required to do. Further, I had already asked you not to update chart positions without tracking down an editor to run your changes past first. I think it is clear that you are trying here, but please understand that it is frustrating when we ask you over and over to do something and you simply refuse, often just ignoring our comments. --Yamla 03:44, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

It would help with images if you specified the particular URL where you grabbed the image from. Amazon's terms of use/copyright policies are at this location (well, for Canada anyway. It specifically notes that images are copyright Amazon or the content supplier. What that means is that Amazon or someone else owns the copyright and that no license is given for us (that is, Wikipedia) to reuse it. Now, it isn't quite as simple as that. Book covers, for example, are considered fair use in many situations. But as a general rule, you should not use anything you find on Amazon. In fact, as a general rule, you should not use any image you find anywhere on the Internet unless the site specifically gives you permission. Pictures that you take yourself are a different matter. Generally, you own the copyright on any picture that you take yourself. As always, it isn't as straightforward as that

Please please ask if you want me to explain any part of that or if you have questions on any part. Copyright and fair use are not easy concepts to grasp. But if you follow the general rule, you'll probably be okay. As to the picture on my user page, a fellow editor gave it to me. Very nice, I agree. Episode lists can have links to episode articles, yes, but that is not strictly what they are for. They can also have brief episode descriptions for each episode. Most of the episode descriptions you deleted did have their own page, but were merged with the episode list. Look here, here and here. I'm not "watching your back" (although Wikipedia does permit users to track an editor's contributions if they are repeatedly making mistakes), but when you violate one of Wikipedia's policies or guidelines I'm not going to just clean up after you (sorry, but that's exactly what myself and other editors have been doing) without asking you not to do it again just because you don't want me to. If anything, the Hilary Duff article should have a "see also" link on it. I understand the desire to create all the categories, but most artists simply do not need their own category. Since Hilary Duff does have her own, it makes sense to place all articles about her (her albums, her singles, etc) into a category to keep them contained, but a category isn't used to link every article within Wikipedia that happens to mention her name. Also, the CD will be released less than 3 weeks away! I know everything about it. I created the Now #1's. Plus, all that's been released is the track listings and its released date. Please! Let me create it.

I've got news for you; an older version of the article was AfDed, and I voted in *favour* of it for that reason (provided it was cleaned up a lot and the speculative material replaced with only known facts). Everyone else voted against it! So if you create it before the release, it may well be deleted by someone else anyway. Please respect the vote until the album comes out, or it's likely your work will be wasted.

BTW, I'm kind of opposed to "Now!" CD articles and the like, because there's little or nothing of interest to say about them apart from "these are the tracks". Wikipedia isn't meant to be a simple repository of information.... But when I asked for comments about whether they should be kept or removed, there were very few replies, not enough to get consensus on the matter. As far as I know, there is no official Billboard magazine chart for kids singles. I'm not going to get into an argument with you over whether kids and adults are equal.. the fact is Canada, UK & Australia each have official chart companies (like Billboard), and kids don't have an official singles chart, as they don't have a country.

Thanks for uploading some pictures to Wikipedia. I wanted to make sure you were aware of some of the requirements and good practices for uploaded images.

Pick an image name.

When uploading an image, pick a file name that is descriptive, and unique. Remember that many images may be uploaded about the same topic, and remember that names are case sensitive.

Source the image.

On the image description page, explain where the image came from. If you created the image yourself, then say so. If it's from the web, give a URL. If it's a screenshot of a movie or game, or a scan from a book, give the title.

Provide copyright and license information.

This part is a little bit trickier, but it's very important. The copyright of the image generally belongs to whomever created it.

If it's a photograph you took, or an image you created (modifying an image that already exists doesn't count) in software like Photoshop or GIMP, then you own the copyright. To upload it to Wikipedia, you must agree to license it under the GFDL (which allows anyone to use it, but requires that they give credit to the original author and requires that any further edit to the image be licensed under the GFDL as well) or release it into the public domain (which allows anyone to use it for any purpose without restriction.) Do this by placing an appropriate tag on the image description page, like {{GFDL}} or {{PD}}. Be sure to mention that you created the image. If you're using {{PD}}, you may also want to use {{NoRightsReserved}}, since there is some dispute as to whether one may grant items into the public domain.

If you didn't create the image, or the copyright somehow belongs to another party (like a screenshot, which you might "create", but the copyright belongs to the author of the movie or video game), then you need to find another tag that describes the copyright status of the image. Images used on Wikipedia need to be free for our use and the use of sites which reproduce our content. This means that images cannot have a restriction such as "only for use by Wikipedia", or "for non-commercial use only", or "for educational use". Images without a free license may be usable in certain articles under fair use, but such a use should be justified on the image description page.

Describe the image.

To another reader, the image may not be immediately understood. A caption in an article doesn't explain the image to a visitor who sees it on its image page. Put a brief explanation of what is in the image on the image description page, similar to what you might include in a caption on an article.

I think I've found out why some sources say "SOS (Rescue Me)": if you check out a previous version of the SOS cover, it says "SOS (Rescue Me)". I request that you remove the image thumbs, except for Image:Noimageforcd.gif, Image:Newi.gif, Image:Mypatty.gif and Image:2andonehalfoutof5.gif, which are under free use licenses. I reverted your changes. Please don't make huge modifications like this without a Talk Page discussion first. These pages are lists - they do not need images. Single/album covers should be used for single/album/artist articles. Not all singles had pictures and the way you added them upset the formatting of the pages. Also, if we add images to these pages, we would have to do it for all years and for all formats that have number-ones lists so as to not show POV to only certain artists. Just wanted to ask you to please be careful with all your links to that Top Hits Online website. Those charts are not official - meaning that they are determined by internet users who contribute their own personal charts. Moreover, the reviews on that site are by user contributions (not professionals). When I clicked one of the links you posted, it brought up a review page where the first thing listed was a summary you wrote. This isn't gonna go over for an encyclopedia and if you keep adding them, people are just going to remove them. As far as obtining song lyrics from THO, I assume that would be ok.... but just keep tabs on it so you don't waste your time adding stuff that people will revert anyway. Tcatron, please - again - do not make huge changes to these lists without discussing on the Talk Pages first and getting a consenses from editors. These are lists of HITS/SONGS/SINGLES. Adding the albums is just overkill. In addition, there are number one lists for R&B, Dance, Modern Rock and U.S. Albums. Some songs appear on more than one album (soundtracks, compilations, etc.) and that just complicates matters. Many editors have contributed to these lists and have utilized the same list-template for each page. All the formatting on all these pages is identical. Wikipedia:Guide_to_layout#Structure_of_the_article recommends against inserting section and subsection headers in close proximity to each other as they make the article look cluttered and inhibit the flow.
Wikipedia:WikiProject Music states song titles shouldn't be linked unless an article on the song already exists or is likely to be created. For example, an article on a song like "Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime" is likely to come up (and I'm surprised one doesn't exist yet) because the song's been covered several times by notable acts, whereas "Who's to Say" is hardly noteworthy at all. Please read the Wikipedia:Notability (songs) guidelines.
Do not boldface number-one positions. Firstly, it violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy to do so (by deliberately emphasising an artist's successes), and secondly, it's distracting for readers looking for positions other than the number-ones. Wikipedia:Manual of Style advises against bolding unnecessarily.
You didn't cite your sources for the chart positions for the Billboard Adult Contemporary column. Please do so.
The link Adult Contemporary leads to Adult contemporary music. The article you should have piped the link to is Adult Contemporary (Billboard chart). In the future, please check where the wikilinks you insert lead to.
"n/a" means "not applicable", indicating that the single was ineligible to appear on a chart for some reason (e.g. it wasn't released). A dash indicates that the single was eligible to appear but didn't.
Is there a reason why you replaced the m-dashes with "-" dash?
The ISO 3166-1 code for Indonesia is "IDN", not "IND" (which is the code for India).
Finally, you failed to respond to my message above, and as I've explained above the "Clean-Up" you performed at Vanessa Carlton indicates that you haven't consulted any of the pages other editors have asked you to. It's against Wikipedia's copyright policies to link to music videos, because it means the whole song is available to listen to, and we should never link to copyrighted material like that. You don't seem to be listening to other editors about this, so I'm telling you now that if you keep inserting external links in violation of the Wikipedia:External links guidelines, you may be blocked from editing for a period.

I'm sure that in real life you may stop talking to people with whom you're in disagreement, but unfortunately for you that's not how it works on Wikipedia; this is a community project based on collaborative editing. There's no consensus on whether to remove lyrics links (they only contain a song's lyrics rather than the lyrics and music), but as far as I know removing music video links is widely endorsed here. Whether other articles contain such links is irrelevant, and you should remove them if you spot them.
It's common courtesy, both online and off, to tell someone communicating with you that you know what they have said, or else they won't know if what they said got through or not. Obviously you don't appear to "get the point" because editors including myself have needed to bring up the same issues with you over and over. You probably wouldn't be in this situation if you had read the policy and guidelines pages, as you've been asked to.
Look at the Beat of My Heart article and tell me you honestly think it is big enough to include another image. Also, Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection; readers of a general purpose encyclopedia won't need a blow-by-blow presentation of a single's chart performance. I've spent quite a bit of Wikitime cleaning up some of these Hilary Duff articles, and I don't want anybody (including you) to treat this website like a free fanlisting for their favourite singers.
Please read Wikipedia:Civility, and bear in mind that you shouldn't be entering Wikipedia nonchalantly expecting to "fight" with other contributors. Same with the album and single release dates. Total Request Live is a television show, and its title should be formatted accordingly (in italics).

Regarding Dignity (song), Haters (Hilary Duff song), Gypsy Woman (Hilary Duff song): no, songs do not have to have been released as singles for Wikipedia to have articles on them. Read Wikipedia:Notability, which states "A notable topic has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works that are reliable and independent of the subject" - this applies to all three songs, as you'd know if you had read the articles. Defining the notability of a song with the question "Was it a single?" isn't wise: the aforementioned three songs, without being released as singles, attracted more mainstream media attention than Duff's own "The Getaway" or "Supergirl". Further, Wikipedia:Notability (songs) (although defunct) states "a song may deserve an article if there is enough information for it to be spun off from a very long album article". The Hilary Duff (album) and Dignity (album) articles are each over the recommended article size of 30kb, and all the non-trivial information available on "Haters" et al would drown the album articles in unnecessary detail, hence the creation of separate articles.

Note that this does not mean, in response to what you wrote about I Am (Hilary Duff song), that every song promoted on Radio Disney should be given its own article. In addition to the size of Hilary Duff (album), there was enough information on "I Am" in reliable sources to warrant a separate article. As far as I know, there is not enough information on other Radio Disney singles such as "Rock This World" and "Who's That Girl" to warrant separate articles for those.

Tcatron565, seriously: You really need to familiarise yourself with processes, policies and guidelines before you start making edits related to them. When you tag an article for speedy deletion, you do not blank it entirely, and "This is NOT a single" is not one of the speedy deletion criteria. This is just one example. I see that, despite earlier warnings, you're also inserting unsourced speculation into articles (rumoured singles and whatnot), which is also a violation of policy. The Dignity album article already summarises what's in the "Dignity" and "Gypsy Woman" articles; merging them in would just mean we had lots of detailed information on those two songs in an article about an album. Same with the Hilary Duff album article and those on "The Getaway" et al - what's suitable for inclusion in an article on a song isn't necessarily relevant when discussing the album. And "Supergirl" didn't chart anywhere, "I Am" was not a "huge" single on Radio Disney - please check your facts.

Here's another tip: when you say something like "I don't need you telling me what I can't and can do. I know what I'm doing", don't follow that up by committing another policy violation - you've already been told unsourced speculation and rumours about future events aren't allowed. If you can't find reliable sources to support information you're adding, you shouldn't be adding it. How about you read up on some of the policies and guidelines instead of rebuking other people's advice? That's more likely to send the impression that you "know what you're doing". So far, everything tracks back to one fansite (www.vanessa-hudgens.com, which doesn't even list that title as confirmed) and one gossip site (tommy2.net). If there's a reliable one, let me know.
