My name is Thomas Callahan and I'm an American of Irish-Tyrolean descent. I graduated with honors from Fordham University in New York City recently, having majored in Comparative Literature and specialized in Russian and Italian, while also studying sign theory and metaphysics. I've been in contact with the Stoner Rock scene and Palm Desert Scene since 1996 through friendships with Man's Ruin Records and the band Fu Manchu. I've been involved in the snowboarding industry since 2002 through a relationship with Endeavor Snowboards.

I have played rugby since 2002, when I started a team at my high school with some of my friends. We won the New England Rugby Football Union high school championships for Division III in 2003. I played my first two years at Fordham as well; we won the Metropolitan New York Rugby Union Division I championship in 2004 and again in 2005.

I grew up in South Burlington, Vermont.

I hold moderately unorthodox political views. I do not associate with any American political party since they all support Israel. I view Israel to be an apartheid state, and as its government is one of the world's most flagrant human rights violators, I find America's support of it outrageous. In fact, I find most American foreign policies to be outrageous.

My favorite movies are Blade Runner, Otto e Mezzo, and L'Eclisse.

I completed my undergraduate thesis on Vladimir Nabokov's novel Invitation to a Beheading, reading it as a critique of Soviet Fascism.

I now work in New York City with Wachovia Securities. I will pursue a Master's full-time in Russian & Slavic Studies at NYU beginning in September 2008.

I like to travel when I can afford it, and I have visited Canada, Iceland, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Greece, Italy, Austria, Germany, Hungary, and Switzerland. My favorite city to visit is Helsinki, though I have the greatest love for St. Petersburg. I prefer to stay in hostels. In July of 2008 I'll visit the greater Santiago, Chile area to go snowboarding, and then São Paulo, Brazil to party.

The next places I'd like to visit are India, particularly Goa and Israel, particularly Tel Aviv.

I drove with two friends from New York City to San Diego, California and back over the course of three weeks in December 2006 - January 2007.

Once while working at J. Crew in college I had a lengthy conversation with Woody Allen, but did not know who he was until after he left and someone told me.

I have seen Neil Young five times in concert, Mastodon four times, Clutch six times, and El-P five times.

I primarily edit entries containing erroneous or insufficient information on any of the things above which have had serious impact on my development as an individual. I also clean up entries in any field with grammatical issues, or which have been poorly translated from Russian to English. I occasionally monitor the neutrality of articles pertaining to the Arab-Israeli Conflict.
