Hello Brent,
On List of science fiction conventions you asked,
It would be perfect if it were a table with colums you could sort by, name, city, state, month. Can that be done? --Tbmorgan74 14:22, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
I did not think such could be supported, but I found partial support; see How_to_sort_tables. However, not all information is suitable for a table; see When_tables_are_inappropriate.
In addition, all lists of SciFi convenations seem to get dated rather quickly. However, for the Southern U.S., this seems well maintained.

I thought that was you when I saw your name come up somewhere. But I wasnt sure until I read your reference to GO and THAAD! I will go browse your contributions.
See you around!
[edit] Discworld reading order
I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Discworld reading order, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Discworld reading order. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. [edit] License tagging for Image:Apolloconlogo2007.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Apolloconlogo2007.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 17:05, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Merger of comic book conventions with science fiction conventions
Why did you do this when the consensus in the discussion was against it? --Orange Mike 21:23, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
- Here's my proposed new lead paragraph for what was formerly List of science fiction conventions:
"This is a haphazard list of media fandom-bilking expositions, anime conventions, comic book shows, furry gatherings, a few science fiction conventions, and everything else remotely connected with imagination or "sci-fi" (but not necessarily with actual science fiction). Please be aware that many of these events (particularly those called "shows" or "expositions") are run for-profit for the benefit of the persons or corporation putting them together, and may have nothing to do with actual science fiction or science fiction fandom. You might as well go ahead and add more "conventions" as you find them; no quality control or evaluation has been exercised in compiling this list, since Wikipedia is an indiscriminate compilation of lists."
Obviously, too, you will need to pick a new name for the article, since the old name is false now. --Orange Mike 21:47, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Convergence logo.gif)
Thanks for uploading Image:Convergence logo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 04:19, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Convergence logo.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Convergence logo.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.Betacommand (talk • contribs • Bot) 17:25, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Convergence logo.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Convergence logo.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:25, 16 May 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.Betacommand (talk • contribs • Bot) 17:25, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Honorverse
You seem to be the only major contributor of the series, so I'm hoping you can help me out. Fictional topics need real world information, such as development and reception notes from creators, writers, critics, fans and others based upon reliable sources in order to be a separate topic. Ones that don't have this information belong on lists or in the main article of the series. I have to imagine that out of all of those topics like characters, ships, and the other things on the template, some can achieve that information. But, any that cannot really need to be merged and/or redirected.
I imagine that you may not like the idea of that, but it goes with WP:V, WP:NOT (two policies of this site), WP:N, WP:RS (two of the more important guidelines), WP:FICT, and WP:WAF (two guidelines that directly relate to fiction). If you agree that merging and redirecting is a fine method, I would like to sort out which ones can possibly stay. If you disagree, please read over the above links, and I will try to explain why this is the best method. TTN 21:51, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- As a contributor to many HH articles, I do agree with TTN that we have too many articles. Quite a few can be merged into existing lists, and we need a 'list of concepts' (List of Honorverse terminology?) for stuff like Neue-Stil Handgemenge (wow, I thought I was a major geek of HH but haven't recalled this... and I doubt more then few dozen people alive do :>). -- Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus | talk 22:05, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed that the Honorverse was in a poor state previously. I have created the world of honorverse portal. I simply tried to document the articles that existed to know where we stand. The template matches the current articles as they exist now, and it reflects the poor organization. Improvements to the organization should be done, and then the template can be made to match the then existing organization. I am not in favor of wholesale deletion or redirections. Aggressive editors cherry pick those WP policies and cite them to their benefit, and to the detriment of others. (Not that you have done so TTN. That would look like "Article deleted per WP: Blah Blah) Don't be hasty. These articles have sat idle for 2 or more years without controversy. They need improvements, not deletions. I try to anticipate the needs of the audience. The general audience needs thoughtful well cited articles about the books them selves. Self selected fans of the material may want more indepth summaries of the cannon that spans 14 novels. Give both of them what they want while isolating them from each other by controlling the proliferation of links. Differentiate the in-universe data from the real world data. Cite real world data. In-universe data can be cited from the canonical novels, or not, they can just exist. In the same way that each and every pokeman species is throughly documented, but not exactly well cited outside of the creators published works. This is a fictional world, have fun with it. --Tbmorgan74 22:58, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] prod notification
[edit] James Bond gun barrel sequence/table test
A {{prod}} template has been added to the article James Bond gun barrel sequence/table test, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. JodyB yak, yak, yak 20:47, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}}

[edit] AfD nomination of Discworld reading order
An editor has nominated Discworld reading order, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Discworld reading order and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 02:59, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
