The Tazewell & Peoria Railroad (T&P) (AAR reporting marks TZPR) (November 1, 2004 — Present) is a short-line railroad formed by Genesee & Wyoming to lease the assets of the Peoria and Pekin Union Railway.
The P&PU track straddles the Illinois River at Peoria, Illinois, making the T&P an important transportation link for industrial sites such as the Caterpillar plant in East Peoria, Illinois.
It says it switches close to 100 000 cars per year[1] and has nearly 150 miles of track to its name[2] which it has leased from its owners: The Union Pacific, Norfolk Southern and Canadian National.
