From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Taymyr River (also known as Taimyra River) is a roughly 400 mi (640 km) long river in the middle of the Taymyr Peninsula in the Krasnoyarsk Krai administrative region of the Russian Federation.
The Upper Taymyr flows into Lake Taymyr and the Lower Taimyr flows out of it. Taymyr Island lies west of the Taymyr Gulf, the estuary that stretches beyond the river's mouth in the Kara Sea.
