[edit] Incorporation

Taylors is the unincorporated buffer zone between the cities of Greenville and Greer in South Carolina. In 2005, area residents organized a drive to incorporate as a city, in protest to certain annexations of commercial properties on Wade Hampton Boulevard by the city of Greer. These residents were concerned that the tax base of the area's sewer authority was being eroded. The proposal was defeated and Taylors remains unincorporated.
