Talk:Taxi dance hall
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is in concern to the suggestion that the Taxi-Dance Hall article be merged into the Taxi-Dancer article. I'm new to Wikipedia, and as I am still learning the ropes, my articles on 'taxi-dance halls' and 'taxi dancers' are developing slowly. I am the submitter who made the recent additions to taxi dancer, and started this new stub for taxi-dance hall. I have done extensive reading on taxi-dance halls, and had planned on finishing a much longer article on the phenomena of the taxi-dance halls -- in fact I intend the Taxi-Dance Hall topic it to go into much greater depth than the article on Taxi Dancers. I feel that it is very important to create two branches for these topics to grow upon, in much the same way that we would not want to merge 'actor' and 'motion picture film' into one article. I'm in my first week at Wikipedia, so why don't you give me a little more time (a month or so) to fully develop the taxi-dance hall topic, properly distribute the facts (that I submitted) among the two articles, before you consider deleting either the taxi-dance hall stub, or the taxi dancer stub. The taxi-dance hall topic is really the one with the most potential for growth because it involves not only the dancers, but the male patrons, the legal issues, the business owners, and descriptions of the historic, economic, and social environments that triggered this unique phenomena that so reveals a key aspect of urban life.
