[edit] Nonsense of LGBT animals

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on LGBT animals, by Jaksmata (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because LGBT animals provides no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting LGBT animals, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 17:21, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Comment: it is possible that an article could be written on the subject, but you need to say a great deal more and have sources. To see what WP already has, start off by searching for "gay animals" DGG 01:37, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of Wade Nelms

A tag has been placed on Wade Nelms, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Russ (talk) 20:33, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] St. James United Methodist Church

The article St. James United Methodist Church has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

[edit] Billy Elliot (musical)

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. However, articles should not be moved, as you did to Elton John's Billy Elliot the Musical, without good reason. They need to have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. We have some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Musicals, typically, are named "Title (musical)" if it was based on a similarly-titled source. The article needed to be moved to fit in with this naming convention, but not to something more esoteric. Thank you. —  MusicMaker5376 01:05, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] August 2007

Please do not delete content from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Candle in the Wind. Your edits do not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use Wikipedia:Sandbox for test edits. Thank you. — madman bum and angel 03:19, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Candle in the Wind, you will be blocked from editing. Miranda 15:39, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome to WikiProject LGBT studies!

Hi, Tawniz, welcome to WikiProject LGBT Studies!

We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying, categorizing, and improving articles of interest to the LGBT community. Some points that may be helpful:

  • Our main aim is to help improve LGBT-related articles, so if someone asks for help with an article, please try your hardest to help them if you are able.
  • Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
  • The project has several ongoing and developing activities, such as article quality assessment, peer review and a project-wide article collaboration, all of which you are welcome to take part in. We also have a unique program to improve our lower quality articles, Jumpaclass, so please consider signing up there.
  • If you have another language besides English, please consider adding yourself to our translation section, to help us improve our foreign LGBT topics.
  • If you're planning to stay, have a square in our quilt! You can put anything you want in it.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you.

And once again - Welcome!

-- SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 03:35, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

From your edit history - your edits kept popping up in articles I was working on, so I checked your full edit history and saw at least an interest in LGBT issues. Glad to have you as part of the project! -- SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 03:59, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy Deletion of Straight pride

A tag has been placed on Straight pride, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

CSD G4: recreation of previously deleted article

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. —Disavian (talk/contribs) 19:56, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Political correctness run amok

Please stop adding/changing names of article subjects such as LGBT xxxx that aren't actually used; in several cases you are creating neologisms out of an apparent sense of political correctness. To quote WP:NCON:

Bear in mind that Wikipedia is descriptive, not prescriptive. We cannot declare what a name should be, only what it is.

Thanks, AUTiger » talk 19:20, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Page move

Please do not move user pages to article space. There's no good reason to do it, and it's confusing and disruptive. If you want to create a new article, you can do so without any page moves. Thanks. -FisherQueen (Talk) 11:10, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] What Makes a Family

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article What Makes a Family, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of the page. SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 16:47, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of What Makes a Family

What Makes a Family, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that What Makes a Family satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/What Makes a Family and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of What Makes a Family during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. CitiCat 00:05, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] My Own Private Rodeo

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article My Own Private Rodeo, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit] About your Elton John album changes

I noticed you changed quite a few of the Elton John album titles to include John's name in the title. Based on your edit summaries, it seems these edits were in good faith. However, please refrain from doing this in the future. 'Elton John' is not actually a part of the album title; his name only appears on album covers to indicate his work.
