[edit] School Litany

While I'd been extremely surprised if the litany was copyrighted. How does one find out? I'm sure they wouldn't mind it being listed on the wikipedia anyway.

I'm not a lawyer, but almost anything written has copyright protection unless explicitly released to the public domain (or very old). Why not just add a link to a website containing the lyrics? If the school has published the lyrics themselves, this is probably the best solution. If some student or other party has published the lyrics, including the variations, then they take the (very likely negligible) risk of copyright violation, and at most Wikipedia would be asked not to link to that site. If there is no website publishing the lyrics, then the material isn't easily verifiable, and shouldn't be on Wikipedia anyway.-gadfium 18:55, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
