[edit] Franchising

Greetings. I removed the link for several reasons.

  1. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. We get many users adding new external links to these pages (Franchising, Corporate social responsibility, Corporate governance, etc.]]) that only serve to promote a website.
  2. I infer from what you said on my talk page that the link in question is your website? Wikipedia also tends to discourage adding links to sites that you're affiliated with. Please see the external links guideline for an explanation of links that are considered appropriate.
  3. The information on that website cited no sources. How can information from that website be verifiable?
  4. The website also had an internal blog. Though many sections of the site were non-blog, Wikipedia strongly discourages linking to blogs.

I would have to say that the second point is the most salient. I know all of this information is a bit overwhelming all at once--I, too, was once a newbie here at Wikipedia and we don't want to bite the newcomers. Above you will find some basic links to some of Wikipedia policy. I look forward to many productive edits from you in this area, as it really does need someone's help, but please try to cite authoritative sources (print books, online business journals, news articles, etc.) that you aren't affiliated with. If you have any questions, feel free to leave many messages on my talk page and I'll do my best to answer them. Cheers, Rkitko 15:10, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
