Tavarnelle Val di Pesa is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Florence in the Italian region Tuscany, located about 25 km south of Florence. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 7,284 and an area of 57.0 km².[1]

The municipality of Tavarnelle Val di Pesa contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Sambuca val di pesa, San Donato in Poggio, Tignano, and Badia a Passignano.

Tavarnelle Val di Pesa borders the following municipalities: Barberino Val d'Elsa, Castellina in Chianti, Certaldo, Greve in Chianti, Montespertoli, San Casciano in Val di Pesa.
