Tauromachy (from Greek ταυρομαχία - tauromachia, "bull-fight", from ταύρος - tauros, "bull" + μάχη - machē, "battle, fifht") is a name for the cultural ritual of Bullfighting and also for the iconic central action of Mithras, the savior-god of Mithraism. It is also another term for bullfighting, as found in Hispanic culture. Its cognate, tauromaquia, is far more common in Spanish.
