[edit] Overview

The Taunusbahn is operated as the RMV line 15 by the Hessische Landesbahn GmbH (HLB) after the takeover of the Frankfurt-Königsteiner Eisenbahn AG. It is one of the commuter rail routes operated by the HLB west and north of Frankfurt.

The Taunusbahn trains run during the peak hours to and from Frankfurt Central Station, otherwise its south terminus station is Bad Homburg, which can also be reached from Frankfurt by the S-Bahn line S5. The trains commute every half-hour on working days and Saturdays, and hourly on Sundays and public holidays.

The rolling stock consists mainly of VT2E-type diesel trains. In December 2006, ten new LINT 41-type trains were added.
