Tauno Valdemar Palo (b. October 25, 1908 in Hämeenlinna, Finland - d. May 24, 1982 in Helsinki) was a Finnish actor in what some consider the golden age of Finnish cinema.
He was born Tauno Brännäs but changed his name in 1935. His leading lady was frequently Ansa Ikonen. His most famous films were perhaps Kulkurin Valssi ("Vagabond's Waltz") and Vaimoke ("Wifeling"). In Kulkurin Valssi, he uttered perhaps the most famous words in the history of Finnish film, "I will be remembered not as the mere shadow of the man I once was, but as the mere shadow of the man I am now."
