- Please, consider this: [1] and this: [2]. The subject of the article seems to be notable, but the article may be deleted if these issues are not solved.Cenarium (talk) 16:54, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Mapulane Surnames
Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Mapulane Surnames, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 11:59, 17 January 2008 (UTC) i was not sure whether this tag was added automatically, because of the paragraph starting with I(making it an assay or personal point of view) i kept deleting it, but when i realized it comes back with the original text i had written, i decided to look at responses. it was then that i saw that it was prohibited to keep deleting.... sori....
let me explain though why i don't think that you should be deleting this article....
it is descriptive of a very small nation. with African people, the clan name as very important as the article explains. you may not understand it, but it is the same for most of our cultures.... it is like referring to a king or queen, by saying your majesty, you did not use their name or surname, you used a name associated with giving homage to one.... with Africans it goes further, thus the need to educate....
i'm not going to fight with you like some of the links i followed do... i'm only going to request that it be open for debate & i'll invite a few people with more knowledge than me to contribute....
regards Shimane
[edit] AfD nomination of Mapulane Surnames
An editor has nominated Mapulane Surnames, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mapulane Surnames and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:59, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages. Doing so won't stop the discussion from taking place. You are, however, welcome to comment about the proposed deletion on the appropriate page. Thank you. JuJube (talk) 13:05, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- Please stop. If you continue removing Articles for deletion notices or comments from articles and Articles for deletion pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. JuJube (talk) 13:40, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you remove Articles for deletion notices or comments from articles and Articles for deletion pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. (Please note that changing from first-person to third-person does not alleviate the primary problem with the article.) JuJube (talk) 13:56, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
