Tasman Lake is located in the Mount Cook National Park on the South Island in New Zealand.[1] It is famous for being among the only freshwater lakes in the world with icebergs.[2] The lake itself is a 'turning-back point' on the many hikes in the area surrounding Mount Cook. Like many other geographic places in both New Zealand and Australia, it is named after Dutch explorer Abel Janszoon Tasman.
