Tase Matsunaga

Tase Matsunaga (松永タセ Matsunaga Tase?) (May 11, 1884November 18, 1998) was a Japanese supercentenarian. Matsunaga was born in Kiyosato in the Niigata prefecture though soon moved to Tokyo. She was still gardening when she was 112, but she was mostly bedridden after that. On July 31, 1998, she became the oldest person in her country. Later that same year she died, aged 114 years and 191 days, of heart failure. Following her death, Yasu Akino became the oldest person in Japan.
