[edit] earlier comment
I'm glad somebody has started putting better pictures on - in fact one of my hobbies I've been meaning to get into a bit is taking photos for Wikipedia, as I think every single article should have one or more photos - but just a small criticism that the photos aren't very clear and it's cloudy. Never mind, I'll see what I can do. - User:tilgrieog

[edit] Main Navigation Span
I'm no expert on the matter but i thought (espcially by the way the bridge is arched) that the main navigation span has always been in the same place, and also the Lake Illawarra's Captain was suffering extreme fatigue and struck the bridge well east of the Main Navigation Span. Is the page wrong? Am I wrong? -- Wiki ian (talk) 12:31, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Origins of the Tasman Bridge
Wasn't the Tasman bridge built to replace a floating, arced wooden span that went between the eastern and western shores? I'm pretty sure I saw that in a museum display once - maybe I should see what I can find about that and post it? shiyoushi 16:02, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not sure thats how you would describe the Hobart Bridge, but you can see a colour framed picture of it in the front window of the Winnings Newsagency in North Hobart. I would decribe the bridge as being exactly like the Bridgewater Bridge except it curved along the river and instead of a Causeway, there was a floating bridge.
