TASCAM

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

TASCAM is the professional audio division of TEAC Corporation, headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, and is credited as the inventor of the Portastudio, the first cassette-based multi-track home studio recorders. People often refer to any brand of 4-track cassette recorders as a "portastudio" although this term is "owned" by TASCAM.

Today TASCAM produces GigaStudio, a software sampler. It also continues to supply a variety of continually updated products for sound recording and production.
