[edit] request

Since this is my first time doing this, I was wondering if I could get help from you, my favorite adopter. Could you please chime in at Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/TTN & Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of locations in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (2nd nomination) and give your thoughts? Thanks! Taric25 (talk) 21:22, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

I will most definitely review the situations (sock and afd) and comment accordingly. this has gotten wayyyy out of hand :( MatthewYeager 21:25, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
Thank you so much! Taric25 (talk) 21:40, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Deleted

Since you're now well aware that TTN and Henke37 are different individuals, and would no doubt not want this moment of poor judgment to be used against you in future disputes, I have deleted Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/TTN to spare your blushes. Guy (Help!) 20:34, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

This was not poor moment of judgement by me. I am very serious and I think my claim needs serious consideration. Taric25 17:07, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Help

Hi I am new to Wiki and was hoping you would help me out. You can answer at my Talk Page. Thanks. --11tberkey (talk) 17:00, 7 December 2007 (UT:C)

Sure, with what would you like me to help you? Also, how did you find me? Cheers! Taric25 (talk) 17:03, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
I saw you on Matthew Yeager's Talk Page. Matt is a Friend of mine. --11tberkey (talk) 17:08, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
Ok, cool. How may I help you? Taric25 (talk) 17:10, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
Well first I was wondering, is it wrong to like ask people Q's like for EX how old, what gender sort of questions? --11tberkey (talk) 17:14, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
It's unusual on Wikipedia, but I wouldn't mind chatting with you, however, I would prefer keep my talk page relevant to talk about Wikipedia. Do you have AIM or Yahoo! Messenger? Taric25 (talk) 17:20, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
Well no I do not. Sorry. I am not that advanced. How long have you been on Wikipedia? --11tberkey (talk) 17:24, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
I have to leave right now. I will propably on later. Thanks thu. --11tberkey (talk) 17:26, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
If you would like to check how long I have been on Wikipedia, Special:Contributions/Taric25 is where you can look. I'm sorry, but it seems like you want to chat, rather than need actual help editing an article, and I do not believe that helps the project. If you would like to chat, please get an instant messenger and contact me through there. Thank you. Taric25 17:33, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Listen Up

Ok Taric, let's review your transgressions here:

  1. You have filed what is among the most fatuous sockpuppet notices ever recorded. It is incumbent upon you to have solid evidence for a sockpuppet case. I am going to assume in good faith that you are too new to know what that means and that in making such an accusation against a seasoned regular with 25,000 + edits you are simply a victim of your own ignorance. Your sockpuppet case has been deleted by a rouge admin. You should thank him profusely for helping clean up your mess and post a notice of apology on TTN's talk page. And you should do that now.
  2. There is no requirement for a user page to keep up this, that or any tag that the user does not want. Got that? You're ignorant sockpuppet filing is now compounded by a juvenile reversion of a tag that no longer applies. I am going to assume woeful ignorance in this as well, instead of the more serious case of deliberate vandalism. But that will now cease as well. Got it?
  3. 3RR. You are in danger of being blocked. That would be salutary in my view, but at any event, consider this a warning. in fact, I am probably going to report you to 3RR, since it is an electric fence rule and you are clearly over the line.

So let me summarise: your sockpuppet allegation is completely without merit and comes across as whining adolescent exercise because you didn't get your way in a content dispute, as does your childish 3RR on a user's talk page. Read our rules and abide by them. You will now stop this and find something more productive to do. Got it? Eusebeus (talk) 19:06, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Please see Wikipedia:Wikiquette alerts#User:Eusebeus. Taric25 19:36, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wikiquette alerts

Hello, this is a friendly notice that I replied to your comment, and I would like your advice. If you have any other questions, please feel free to leave a message on my talk page. Thank you! Taric25 (talk) 18:40, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Hi,
I received your message. I am afraid I am a bit confused with the number of involved parties. To my understanding, they are (1) you, (2) TTN, and (3) Eusebeus. Hopefully I'm not leaving anyone out. Now, where I am confused (I haven't dug through everything carefully, since I'm after all not ArbCom) is the following. To start, who accused whom of sockpuppetry? The accused person then of course has denied it. How does a third person enter into the picture, with the rant about the 25,000+ edits? Thanks.Ngchen (talk) 20:18, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for your question. I will do my best make my answer as short as possible, and please feel free to take a look at the evidence for yourself so you can get both sides of the story and make an objective decision, rather than just believe my point of view.
User:TTN and I were not able to come to a consensus on List of locations in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, however, I do not believe he should asked for cleanup at WP:VG/C only to use his sockpuppet, User:Henke37, to list the article at AfD, thereby disrupting Wikipedia to illustrate a point. That is why I listed it at Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets, and that is where this situation between Eusebeus and I arose.
You may want to look at the history for User:TTN's userpage.
21:11, 4 December 2007, I add {{sockpuppeteer}}, per Wikipedia:Sock puppetry#Tagging. My edit summary is "{{sockpuppeteer}}".
02:55, 5 December 2007 User:Eusebeus reverts. The edit summary is "Undid revision 175783905 by Taric25 (talk)".
07:38, 5 December 2007 I revert. My edit summary is "Undid revision 175846854 by Eusebeus (talk) Per Wikipedia:Sock puppetry, the notice may only be removed after at least 10 days".
05:05, 6 December 2007 Eusebeus reverts. The edit summary is "Not when it's a completely bogus claim. See WP:TEMPLAR and be warned that sockpuppetry is a serious accusation. Have better evidence next time for your suspicions". Notice WP:TEMPLAR an essay, neither policy nor guideline.
15:32, 6 December 2007 User:Maniwar reverts. The edit summary is "Reverted 1 edit by Eusebeus; Wait until issue is resolved, per Taric25's last comment. using TW"
17:00, 6 December 2007 User:Seraphim Whipp reverts. The edit summary is "Undid. "The templates serve as a convenient shorthand only and are not part of this policy" from Wikipedia:Sock_puppetry#Tagging. Sorry if I've misunderstood this."
17:00, 6 December 2007 I revert. My edit summary is "Undid revision 176179456 by Seraphim Whipp (talk) I am very serious by the evidence I have presented."
On Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/TTN,(cache) at 20:31, 6 December 2007, User:JzG, an admin Eusbeus identifies as a "rogue admin"(diff), deletes the entire page without using Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion, Wikipedia:Proposed deletion, or Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. The edit summary is "This is clearly fatuous and I don't believe that Taric25's best friend would look on this as his finest hour. Deleting to spare his blushes."
At TTN's userpage, at 17:16, 7 December 2007 Eusebeus reverts. The edit summary is "sockpuppet case was dismissed. This is vandalism. STOP FORTHWITH!"
On Wikipedia:Deletion review, I list Wikipedia:Deletion_review/Log/2007 December 7#Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/TTN at 17:49, 7 December 2007, and my edit summary is "Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/TTN"
At TTN's userpage, at 17:45, 7 December 2007 I revert. My edit summary is "Undid revision 176396657 by Eusebeus (talk) The case was not dismissed, and the case's deletion is up for review."
Current revision (as of 17:50, 7 December 2007) Seraphim Whipp reverts. The edit summary is "Per Wikipedia:Sock_puppetry#Treatment_of_the_editor Aggressive approaches applied to protect the encyclopedia from sock puppets ordinarily should not be applied to the an editor in goodstanding"
On 19:36, 7 December 2007, Eusebeus leaves the message you read at the Wikiquette noticeboard on my talk page.
Also, Seraphim Whipp's reason for reverting me is because that editor believes TTN is in good standing, because at Eusebeus points out, TTN has over 25,000 edits, however, Maniwar points out that this is contested, since TTN has three Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration. For example, one user shows evidence that More than 80% of TTN's edits are an effort to remove content.
Did that make sense? Taric25 (talk) 21:10, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

I'd like you to consider withdrawing the RfC on the talk page - I realize it is well intentioned, but the talk page is for discussing general issues having to do with the Wikiquette page, not specific disputes.

I've posted some comments on the Wikiquette alert intended to get at the civility issue. I hope you will give the process another chance. I will do my best to keep the conversation focused on the civility issue between you and User:Eusebeus. Egfrank (talk) 12:04, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

At your polite request on my talk page, I have withdrawn the RfC. Taric25 (talk) 16:43, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Stop. Now.

You are forum shopping your content disputes in a quite unacceptable manner. It is time to stop it, please. To look at your recent actions one would conclude that every single editor in that dispute, with the sole exception of you, is abusive in some way. I find that implausible. Guy (Help!) 07:57, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

What are you talking about? Forum shopping? Wouldn't that mean that I've been leaving messages on a lot of different user's talk pages? I haven't been doing that, so I don't know what you mean. Kindly, would you please clarify so that I can understand what you mean? Thank you. Taric25 (talk) 16:34, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Posting the same rehash at WP:WQA, WP:ANI, user talk pages, etc. all in an effort to canvass. Seicer (talk) (contribs) 17:22, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
I don't understand, since I haven't posted anything on ANI. Taric25 (talk)
I am assuming what Guy means is that he believes that you are doing something like the following. Child goes to one parent and asks to do something. Parent says no. Rather than leaving it at that, the child then asks the other parent the same thing, hoping for a yes. If the answer is still no, the child goes and asks other relatives one at a time, until the desired "yes" is obtained. Now, I am not saying that what Guy claims is true since I have not examined "the content disputes." Forum shopping doesn't have to involve multiposting over lots of people's talk pages. A hypothetical example might be a user who gets into a user-conduct dispute with another. He files a Wikiquette alert. People say the second user did nothing wrong. He then files a user-conduct RfC alleging the same thing. Gets the same response. Goes to AN/I with the same thing, etc. etc. Now, I'm sure we all agree that doing that is a bad thing, and is actually an attempt to game the system. Hope this helps.Ngchen (talk) 11:15, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
Oh, okay, I understand, however, I withdrew the RfC at the polite request of User:Egfrank on my talk page, and I haven't taken it to ANI. Besides, User:Hemlock Martinis closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of locations in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (2nd nomination) with 'Closed to allow improvement; User:Xoloz overturned the SSP deletion with User:Future Perfect at Sunrise closing the case ruling User:TTN not guilty, and I am not going to contest the decision. I have also apologized to both TTN and User:Eusebeus, so it seems to me like the whole situation is over with me going back to List of locations in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars working with the WikiProject Video games Cleanup department to clean it up per the discussion. That's why I'm confused when User:JzG thinks I'm forum shopping. Taric25 (talk) 18:12, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] MfD nomination of Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/TTN

Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/TTN, a page you created, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/TTN and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/TTN during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Guy (Help!) 18:38, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] World of Super Mario RPG

Taric, I was wondering if you could provide me some of the Nintendo magazine references you have. I'll read up on the one linked in the reference section, but if you could provide the text of the others I'd really appreciate it. (Guyinblack25 talk 18:44, 20 December 2007 (UTC))

PS- I think it might be time to archive you talk page. :-P

Sure, I can do that, but since the full text is not available online, it would require me to scan each and every page or type them out by hand. I would obviously prefer to scan them, but I don't have any webspace. I would usually ask Mitaphane of the WikiProject Video games Magazines department to help me out in this case, but it seems like Mitaphane’s FTP server is down. Do you know any of the users in Category:WikiProject Video games (Magazines Project) members who might be able to help us? Thanks!
PS- I've archived my talk page.Taric25 (talk) 19:21, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
Hmmm.... that's a tough one. I don't know most of the users in the Magazine project, so I don't know which could help us. If one of the articles is a short one, like 3-5 paragraphs, could you possibly type it out. Of course the larger ones would probably be best to scan, but I guess we'll have to wait and see if Mitaphane's server gets back up. In the mean time, I'll go through the sources that are available. (Guyinblack25 talk 20:13, 20 December 2007 (UTC))
Oh, none of the articles on Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars in Nintendo Power are short. For example, the preview in volume 83 is eight pages. Besides, I already typed out pretty much anything that is short, such as the letters gamers wrote into the Player's Pulse, when I quoted them using |quote= in the citation templates. Well, I could start scanning them now. In the meantime, do you want to start contacting the users of the Magazines project on their talkpages? Thank you. Taric25 (talk) 20:23, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

Please stop spamming all the redirects, they are not needed. Q T C 19:44, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

I am not spamming any redirects. I am redirecting the suggested names of the articles in the requested move discussion, while paying attention the title's alternate names from whatredirectshere.php. Thank you for understanding. Taric25 (talk) 19:49, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
All-caps queries are found automatically in uncapped variations, so you're just making a mess out of things. And please leave discussion in one spot Q T C 19:51, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
Please remember to keep a cool head. I don't think there's any reason for you to accuse me of making a mess out of things. Now then, would you please rephrase what you were trying to say? Also, I would appreciate you using words like “please” and “thank you” when asking me to do or not to do something. Thank you. Taric25 (talk) 19:57, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
Whether they search for Mushroom Kingdom (Super Mario rpg) or MuShrOoM KIngDom (SuPeR MaRiO rPg) or Mushroom Kingdom (Super MARIO RPG) all will pull up the same redirect, so creating a separate redirect for the different possible capitalizations is serving no other purpose then cluttering up wikipedia. Q T C 22:31, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for your response. While it may be true that using the search feature will redirect to the same article regardless of capitalization, please understand that many readers simply type into the address bar of their browsers, which does not redirect to an article with different CAPS. Many readers find these redirects helpful, which is why so many other Wikipedians have created these redirects to the main article. I am following the consensus of their examples from redirects they created and incorporating them with the consensus we reached at the requested move on the World article's talk page. Anyway, I have finished making redirects of Mushroom Kingdom (Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars), which was the first suggestion in the requested move. The second is the article itself. The third was Mushroom Kingdom and its neighboring lands (Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars) and the fourth was Mushroom Planet (Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars). If you don't mind, may I please finish the 75% of the work I have left to do? Thank you. Taric25 (talk) 09:46, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
I really dont care at this point, be bold Q T C 17:48, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Centralized TV Episode Discussion

Over the past months, TV episodes have been reverted by (to name a couple) TTN, Eusebeus and others. No centralized discussion has taken place, so I'm asking everyone who has been involved in this issue to voice their opinions here in this centralized spot, be they pro or anti. Discussion is here [1]. --Maniwar (talk) 19:18, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] AFD

I nominated Music of Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars for deletion, due to it not being notable enough for it's own article. See the discussion Here. -Karaku (talk) 19:43, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Taric, this one is not in not as good a shape the world article was. Unless it can be expanded and properly sourced, I don't think it can stay on Wikipedia and I'm inclined to vote accordingly. Keep working on it though. Worst comes to worst, you have to start it over in your sandbox until it is expanded and sourced enough to stand on its own. But if the content and reliable sources don't exist, then the article may not be able to exist. I'd regularly save an updated copy of the wiki code in a txt file if I were you. (Guyinblack25 talk 18:57, 4 February 2008 (UTC))

[edit] AfD nomination of Music of Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars

An editor has nominated Music of Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Music of Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 19:44, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] WARNING

WARNING ;- Your edits to the michael jackson article were vandalism. Continue and you will be blocked. Realist2 (talk) 01:34, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

That was my brother trying to be funny, hence why I self-reverted. Should I have said that on the talk page? Taric25 (talk) 11:24, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
It would have been best to have said it in the edit summary. We have a lot of people who vandalise then revert but it does still count as vandalism. Its not an issue for you though, you have a clean slate so far so your word is taken. Dont let your brother on it again. You might want to change your passward. Realist2 (talk) 13:47, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, will do! Taric25 (talk) 13:54, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
