Unfortunately, Targeman has retired as a Wikipedia editor. Best wishes and good luck!

Hi, Targeman. Since you redirected your talk page here, I'll write you a message here if that is fine with you. I would just like to say I understand your criticism of Wikipedia. I agree that vandalism is a huge turn-off—for a lot of people. The anonymity plays a big role in this. That is one of the main reasons Citizendium allows no anonymity. However, there are ways to deal with vandalism in such a way that it does not overwhelm you. For example, warning users, and reporting constant abusers so that they become blocked is one way to deter continuous vandalism by a particular user on one or many articles. Also, avoiding contentious articles that are prone to regular pesky people. I think the best suggestion I have though is reducing the amount of articles you patrol or watch regularly. In doing so, the perceived amount of vandalism will drop as you focus more narrowly on a select amount of articles. You will be able to devote more of your time to contributing your knowledge and wisdom to Wikipedia instead of fighting vandals. Anyway, best of luck with whichever venture you choose. ~ UBeR 02:49, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Sorry to see you've left and thank you very much for the contributions you made to this controversial encyclopedia. They've been valued very much. Good luck with life my friend. :'-) Lradrama 10:07, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Cheatline

Cheatline, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Cheatline satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cheatline and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Cheatline during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. [edit] Hello

I am very new here...maybe 5 weeks. I am captivated by the width and breathe and potential of Wikipedia. It has replaced internet poker as my "residence". In my wanderings thru the nooks and crannies, I searched for a focal point...a base of operation. Early on, I started to read discussion pages and soon realized how much time was being "wasted" in defense of or promotion of such miniscule factors within articles. I also realized how entrenched POV's can become. I had a few little battles, felt sucessful, but realized that POV battling was not the arena that I wanted to be drawn into.

Let me get to the point of why I reach out to you. In my travels within WikiWorld I started to realize that quality editors (my POV) were leaving. Of course, I wondered why. Let me say, reading your page and others like it was VERY enlightening and rewarding. And it tied into an idea I had a week or two back. Maybe, with a little help from my friends(?), I could be like Mighty Mouse and "Save the Day". Or maybe it would be a place I could hang my hat for a few hours a day and get some real work done. What is it, you ask? (at least I hope you ask). "IT" is only in the Genisis stage. It's still in the shell,so to speak. http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/wikiknights I hope it sounds interesting to you. Please let me know what you think. Maybe its not "planted" in the right place...maybe its a reinvention of the wheel and is already in place...maybe it will become my own little windmill. I dont know. Thanks for your time and good luck. --Buster7 (talk) 12:03, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
