Tarur is a small village in Palakkad district of Kerala state, south India. It is under Alathur Taluk in Palakkad district of Kerala state, India.

The world famous temples Mangottu Kavu Temple and Parakattu Kavu are located very close to Tarur village.

Tarur village is located very close to Kavassery village. To reach Tarur Village, state transport buses and private buses are available from Palakkad via Alathur.

Main festivals are Athipotta Mangottu Kavu Temple vela, Tarur vela, Pazhambalacode vela & Puzhakkal Pali Chandankudam Nercha.

There is a famous Statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Tarur. There is also a small hill in the village called "kaapi-Kunnu"
