The Tarman is a fictional zombie from the Return Of The Living Dead film series. He first appeared in The Return of the Living Dead, was in a "petrified" state inside of a tank. After Frank hits the tank, (believing that it is stong enough to withstand the elements) however, a crack in the tank not only releases the 2-4-5 trioxin gas, but awakens the Tarman. He is not seen however, until Tina goes down to the basement, and gets close to the tank. The Tarman appears in the other Return of the Living Dead films (except for Return of the Living Dead 3 and Return of the Living Dead: Necropolis). He appears in the second film, looking the same, but with a bigger stature (His appearance inside the tank before he is released, is vastly different). Then he appeared in part 5. His look was quite the same, but a few major differences. It had a more brown, grimy look, and his eyes were pure white. His appearance is reduced to hitchiking in the movie however.[1] The Tarman is portrayed by actor Allan Trautman as the normal Tarman, and Robert J. Bennett as the headless Tarman from The Return of the Living Dead.
