The Targus Corporation is a United States-based manufacturer of accessories mostly related to mobile computing. The company has 45 offices worldwide and distribution points in 145 counties. It is headquartered in Anaheim, California, USA. They are a private company owned by private equity firm Fenway Partners.
Targus' flagship line of products is a variety of backpacks, messenger bags, briefcases and attaché cases, all designed to store notebook computers and other manifestations of mobile computing, such as the Palm Pilot line of PDAs and the iPod, and their various accessories. Recently, Targus formed partnerships with HP/Compaq, Toshiba, and IBM to be the exclusive provider of carrying cases for mobile computers made by those companies; the computer, sold new, comes with the carrying case (which adds to the price).
Apart from luggage, Targus produces a fairly wide range of computer peripherals, including, but not limited to USB/FireWire hubs and cables, Bluetooth accessories, replacement power cords and bricks for notebook computers, locking mechanisms for notebook computers, keyboards and mice, portable hard disk drives and optical drives, cooling enclosures for notebook computers, PDA accessories, and tablet PC cases. Unrelated to their computer accessories line, Targus also makes a wide variety of optical disc storage devices (DVD cases, CD folders, and the like).
All of Targus' products are made in China. In India Targus is successfully marketed by NeST Systems(P)Ltd.
