Tarcoon, New South Wales

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tarcoon is a ghost town located in the Brewarrina Shire of far west New South Wales, Australia. It was a transportation centre with a Cobb and Co hotel and a railway station from 1901 to the closure of the Brewarrina branch of the Main Western line in 1974. [1][2] In 2005, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation ran a program on the effects of a catastrophic road accident on the Tarcoon Road to Bourke, New South Wales that occurred in 1979.[3]
