Tarbha(Sometime called 'ulta Bharat') is a notified area committee in Sonepur district in the Indian state of Orissa.

As of 2001 India census[1], Tarbha had a population of 7993. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Tarbha has an average literacy rate of 68%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 78%, and female literacy is 58%. In Tarbha, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.
This town had a mixture of different caste of people, having majority of population are gold smith, brass smith and weivers. Majority of the people here are either service holder or businessman. Most business man here are either Marwaris or weivers. This town is famous for its silver, gold and brass works. Tarbha is a sacred place for Muslims however Majority of population hare are Hindu. All festivals were celebrated in a grand way. The Tarbha Rath Yatra is famous in this locality. Here the annual festival is Nua khai parab.
Tarbha had 9 upper primary school, separate high school for boys and girls, Novadaya Vidyalaya and one degree college having science up to inter stage.
River Nibruti is flowing at one side of the town separating two district, Bolangir and Sonepur.
