Tarantella is a ballet made by George Balanchine, New York City Ballet's founder and ballet master, to Louis Moreau Gottschalk's Grand Tarantelle for Piano and Orchestra, Op. 67 (ca. 1866), reconstructed and orchestrated by Hershy Kay. The premiere took place January 7, 1964, at City Center of Music and Drama, New York.
