[edit] Education
She has never undergone any formal education, instead preferring to read the backs of cereal packets. She is famous in Northern Ireland for her encylopaedic knowledge of the nutrition contents of breakfast cereals. She applied to go on Mastermind, but failed to be chosen as a contestant. She has gained all of her present knowledge from cereal packets, so as you can imagine, her conversation tends to be rather restricted. She gained her first acting role in 1999 when the girl supposed to be playing the part of a cod in the play "Cod Save Ireland" failed to show, so the producers went out into the streets of Belfast and used the first person they saw. O'Neill made an extremely convincing cod, due to her fondness for swimming with them in Belfast Lough. Since gaining stardom, O'Neill has bought a swimming pool and filled it with cod. She gets in every day at 3pm and has a swim with them. She says she finds it relaxing. She also says that swimming with cod is a great cure for the common cold. However, she said in an interview in 2006 that she suffers from a very severe case of "fishy fanny".
[edit] Family
She is the daughter of legendary Northern Irish hunter Jimmy Jim James, who is famous for hunting the once abundant Northern Irish bald eagle to extinction. Jimmy Jim is now working on a project to rid Ireland of speakers of the Irish language, and can be seen shooting regularly in the Connemara Gaeltacht. Since 1984 he has almost halved the number of Irish Gaelic speakers and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1999. He said in an interview with Al Jazeera that he is planning to hunt the Labrador Dog to extinction, a project he plans to start work on in 2010 when he expects to finish his current Gaelic speakers project.
Lynne's mother is the famous Northern Irish cook Mary Jemima James. She is famous for cooking the endangered animals hunted and killed by her husband. She is also world-renowned for her use of common garden animals in her cooking. She is author of many books on the subject, the most famous being "How to cook garden snails". Her own recipe of baked hedgehog is now available in most restaurants in the UK and Ireland.
