[edit] Fair use rationale for "TarponChuckMashigan.jpg" in the Rambler Tarpon article
Though this image is subject to copyright, its use is covered by the U.S. fair use laws, and the stricter requirements of Wikipedia's non-free content policies, the image is used under "fair use" because:
- It is copy of a historically significant photo of the individual designer and the automobile he was responsible for.
- It shows a famous concept car from 1963 that no longer exists (concept cars were routinely destroyed soon after they were shown to the public).
- The name of the photographer is unknown.
- It is of much lower resolution than the original, so it will not detract from the value of any original photograph.
- The photo is only being used for informational purposes.
- The photo does not detract from the reputation of the subject.
- No other photo of this person with this car is available for this purpose.
- Its inclusion in the article adds significantly to the article (Rambler Tarpon) because it shows the subject of this article and the person depicted was historically significant.
