Taquan Dean
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Taquan Dean (born August 6, 1983 in Neptune, New Jersey) is an American professional basketball player currently with Italian 2nd division team Casale Monferrato.
He was born in Neptune, New Jersey and attended Neptune High School in Neptune Township, New Jersey.[1]
Dean was a star basketball player for the University of Louisville through 2006 where he majored in justice administration. Throughout his four year career, he scored 1,657 career points, and 361 Three-point field goals. Considered a lock to be drafted in the first round of the 2005 NBA Draft after Louisville's great season and subsequent run through the NCAA Tournament, he decsided to stay at Louisville for his senior season. This proved to be a mistake, draft stock wise, as Dean spent much of his senior season on the bench with an ankle injury.
He went undrafted in the 2006 NBA Draft, and signed with Pallacanestro Biella in Italian Serie A. After half of the season, he transferred again in Russia to Dynamo Moscow of the Russian Basketball Super League.[2] He signed for Italian 2nd division team Casale Monferrato in 2007.

"Dean's college career hasn't been easy, either, although his various injuries and maladies pale in comparison to what he's already been through. The former Neptune High School standout was hampered by a sports hernia last season, when he averaged 10.8 points."
