[edit] History

The PARA MAG was started in June 2005 by Jason Hawes, Grant Wilson, Steve Gonsalves, and R. W. Bluestroke. On the first page of the magazine, the editorial states "One of the goals of The Atlantic Paranormal Society has always been to find answers to the many questions which confront you after a paranormal experience." In the Volume 2 Issue 2 edition, a free DVD was included of Ghost Hunters sneak peeks.

[edit] Sections

TAPS PARA MAG features several recurring articles in every issue as regular columns:

[edit] Para Times

Usually the first section of the magazine, the Para Times features paranormal news in the mainstream media. The articles are fairly short in length and consist of phenomena, paranormal happenings, odd events, or cryptozoological news.

  • Coleman's Corner: Written by Loren Coleman, the column accompanies his monthly feature piece in the magazine and also offers a round robin look at cryptozoological news.
  • Sneak Peeks: A look at the happenings of the Ghost Hunters from Sci Fi.
  • The Spirituality Almanac: a look at the paranormal in the world’s religions and popular culture.
  • Evidence Bag: Let the TAPS investigators examine your picture submissions to either debunk or confirm your shots.
  • Unplugged: It is where you can ask the TAPS investigators questions about equipment, tactics, standards, or even the television show Ghost Hunters.
  • Ghost Hunting State-By-State: Where to go and investigate in the US.
  • Paratoon: Artist Jay Mayoh’s classic renditions of paranormal humor.
  • Hereafters: Paranormal events in history.
  • International Ghost Writer: Global stories, events and legends.
  • Alternate specialties
    • Para Focus: How other paranormal groups handle an investigation.
    • Para Views: Opinions and theories about the paranormal.

[edit] Eyes on the Skies

Written by Retired Major George A. Filer, the Eyes on the Skies section features news and stories generally about UFOs or Extraterrestrial life. The articles usually involve a certain military having a confrontation with UFOs or Extraterrestrials. Also, there is usually a photo accompanying the article.

[edit] TAPS Evidence Bag

The TAPS Evidence Bag section features pictures sent in by readers that usually are complete with a description. The photos are usually debunked by either Gonsalves, Hawes, or Wilson. In some cases, however, the photos are sent on for later analysis.
