Brackets
Hi, thanks for your response on the helpdesk. I tried your advice with EditPad Pro (which should support regular expressions) but I wasn't able to get it to work. If it's simple to do, could I perhaps e-mail the list to you? If not or if it's not simple to do, then I will go futzing around some more. :) Garion96 (talk) 13:57, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the offer. I don't know if I can put it on your sandbox. The list is copyrighted which even counts for sandboxes. I've just been using the preview button to check a few entries (without saving). (bit background) It's a list of people with HIV, I am working on List of HIV-positive people, the list I copied and pasted from a foundation website to remember hiv victims. Which I assume is copyrighted. I just want to compare the list with wikipedia to check out which entries should be included in List of HIV-positive people Garion96 (talk) 14:24, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
Fatuha:: Thanks
Hi tangotango, Thanks for the work on the disambiguation page for fatwah. Well Fatuha and barh two completely different identities, so the merger of the two can be justified only on the grounds as per given by you that both of them are too short. Anyways, I ll soon be working on Fatuha (right after my tests get over on this wednesday, am a engineering graduate student at NIT Trichy), so that it has merits enough to deserve its own page. Thanks again. Looking forward to a cordial WIKI relationship.. :-) happy wiking.. Ansh.prat 07:40, 15 October 2006 (UTC)Anshu

Name change
I was told before that it would be better to start a new account, but i ill wait until december to change it, i have had a good start on this one. --Suicidal tendancies 11:46, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
Hmm..sockpuppet/meatpuppet
Hi tangotango, i think i've found a sockpuppet/meatpuppet account..but i'm not sure what to do. One account is HMChris and the other is ChrisMH, and this person uses HMChris for proper contributing (though he's only got 4 edits) and ChrisMH for vandalism. They haven't got userpages, but here are their contributions pages as proof: ChrisMH, HMChris. ~ EmeZxX ` 13:41, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

Well, hopefully now I can get someone to fix the edit counter's output... well, what happens is that the results of Essjay's Tool and Flcelloguy's Tool do not match. I had previously calibrated Flcelloguy's Tool, back when Interiot's Tool worked, so using it as a baseline, here's what I see.
When I try to read my contributions to the Portal talk namespace by hand, I see that I have 19, and Essjay's Tool reads 18. So, there's something not exactly right with the output of Essjay's Tool either way... also, the tool reports 8 more edits than necessary (I suppose due to the off-by one MediaWiki error). Thankyou
Thank you very much, i dont think i worded the question right, what i ment was, would someone please check for vandalism on my userpage, and remove it? thanks --Suicidal tendancies 17:45, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

My RfA
Hello Tangotango! Thank you for supporting me during my recently concluded RfA, which succeeded with a final tally of 77/2/0. I hope I live up to the confidence you have shown. I'm still exploring the new tools, so feel free to point out of any mistakes on my part. In case you need help with anything, just leave me a message. Thanks again!--thunderboltz(Deepu) 11:17, 21 October 2006 (UTC) |

A very Californian RfA thanks from Luna Santin
Thanks for your support in my not-so-recent RfA, which succeeded with a final tally of (97/4/4)! I've never been able to accept compliments gracefully, and the heavy support from this outstanding community left me at a complete loss for words -- so, a very belated thank you for all of your kind words.
I have done and will continue to do the utmost to serve the community in this new capacity, wherever it may take me, and to set an example others might wish to follow in. With a little luck and a lot of advice, this may be enough. Maybe someday the enwiki admins of the future will look back and say, "Yeah, that guy was an admin." Hopefully then they don't start talking about the explosive ArbComm case I got tied into and oh what a drama that was, but we'll see, won't we? Surely some of you have seen me in action by now; with that in mind, I openly invite and welcome any feedback here or here -- help me become the best editor and sysop I can be.

- Haven't seen you on IRC so much, lately -- hope all is well and you're not too swamped! :) An additional thanks is in order for your offer of a co-nom, and your apparently very excellent advice before going into this whole thing. Luna Santin 18:57, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

toolserver
Hi tangotango,
- See http://tools.wikimedia.de/~leon/toolserver/ there is something wrong with the column layout of your data.
- In http://tools.wikimedia.de/~tangotango/whatredirectshere.php there must be a subroutine that can analyse an entry like "namespacename:page name" and convert it to a name space number and "Page_name" (with 1st charater uppercase). Unfortunately for me, the source display does not show this code. I am developing a tool which would need to have the same analysis, likely several times per invocation, for varying languages of the same wiki family. Can you help me? I'd like not having to reinvent the wheel.
- I left a German translation of the texts for whatredirectshere on http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Tangotango/Whatredirectshere/deu
Greetings, and thank you -- ksh:Medmaacher:Purodha aka --Purodha Blissenbach 23:28, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
