[edit] Hi

Hi there. I saw that you correctly reverted some nonsense edited by user : 216.157.205.4 I saw on that IP's history that he has been on a nonsense spree. Do you think one should anything to that IP, and if so, how does one do that? DanielDemaret 14:11, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

Hi there DanielDemaret. Since the IP has a last warning on his or her page, and it's been a while since that warning was posted, the IP should probably be posted on the Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism page as a vandal, where admins will block him/her. -- Tangotango 14:19, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
Sorry, looks like I was wrong. TexasAndroid says that old warnings do not count, and that we should start over with a new set of warnings in this case. -- Tangotango 14:34, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. I asked on some alert site anyway. Instructions in wikipedia do not always seem to be written with the intent of humans reading them.DanielDemaret 14:47, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

THank you for your suggestion about the whatsmyip. I happen to know what the IPs in my network and routers are since I set it up myself :) DanielDemaret 08:26, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Email mystery remains

Email myster remains and nobody seems to care, whatever forum I ask. It is very civil of you express your wishes for its disappearance :)DanielDemaret 08:42, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Black people article reverts

I am a major contributor to the Black people article, and I would appreciate it if you could either turn off your "auto revert" feature or check the revision before assuming any kind of vandalism.--Zaphnathpaaneah 10:22, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

Actually Tango, no profuse apology is necessary. In fact, i apologize because I am so accustomed to not logging in (Yes I was the anonymous user), because of Wikipedia server errors. I haven't been on for a while, and I forgot that Wikipedia did some upgrades over the past few months. --Zaphnathpaaneah 10:43, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Userpage

Thanks for cleaning up vandalism on my userpage. -Colin Kimbrell 13:52, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] My Rfa

I think I'm the one on its head.
I think I'm the one on its head.

Thanks for your support in my RfA, and for your speedy congratulations. It passed, with a final tally of 62/0/1, but I'm sure you already know this. I'm touched by all the kind comments it attracted, and hope I'll be of some use with the new tools. You know where I am if you need to shout at me. Flowerparty 17:43, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] My RfA

WikiThanks

Thanks for supporting my RFA. I really appreciated the show of support and all the kind words from so many great Wikipedians. I hope I live up to them! -- Vary | Talk 17:30, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you

Thanks for reverting that vandalism on the RS Quests page. That guy's been warned so many times and he just keeps doing it. Anyway, thanks again! Bronzey 11:56, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] your user page

No problem. Welcome to the elite "somebody vandalized my userpage" club! Cheers, JDoorjam Talk 04:31, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Thanks for reverting the vandalism on my user page!--Andrew c 06:37, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

The bot does check edits until it finds what it considers to be a non vandalized version but it does have somewhat high thresholds due to its fully automated status, I'm just at the gate at YVR right now boarding in a few min (when I'll lose my wifi connection), I'll have a look in a couple days, in the meantime I'll leave the bot running, any problems can you contact Joshbuddy - he has full access to the bot. Cheers! -- Tawker 13:24, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Note

Hello, I noticed you edited a Hip Hop related article. If you wish you can join the new Hip Hop Wikiproject. Thanks for your time. Tutmosis 22:55, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
No worries, thank you for responding. Tutmosis 02:18, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Rowlett High School

My Rowlett High School edit wasn't experimenting...someone had messed up the table so that in the "School District" part, it was blank and the wrong color, because they had edited the html to insert some stupid thing like "someone is a fag" or something to that effect...not that this is a big deal to me, I just wanted to make sure my change wasn't mistaken for attempted vandalism. I just fixed the table and added Garland ISD, which has been changed to Garland Independent School District...no biggy, just letting you know. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.96.15.163 (talkcontribs) 13:29, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

Hi there. I took your edit to be vandalism because you (perhaps inadvertently) replaced the word "public" with "pubic". I apologise if my revert was wrong. In any case, thank you for trying to revert vandalism. You might like to refer to the relevant help page for more information on reverting. For now, let me welcome you: welcome message - Tangotango 12:18, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Zouhair A Khalique

Mr. Zouhair A Khalique is the President and CEO of Pakistan Mobile Communications and one of the movers and shakers of Pakistan's economy. He is among the top-10 of movers and shakers of Pakistan's economy. He must be given a place at wikipedia. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hajiwaseem (talkcontribs) 23:37, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for your comment. I appreciate your explanation, and now feel compelled to keep this article (the man does indeed seem to be someone notable) - however, please put it to use for the general Wikipedia-viewing public by putting the relevant rationale on the article itself (and, may I add, in your own words). Cheers - Tangotango 14:45, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 166.109.0.203

Please go ahead and block edits to Wikipedia from this IP, as it is the public IP for a NATted system of several hundred computers in a public high school. Those of us who use Wikipedia for research are tired of seeing reprimands appear when we access a page because some other user thought it would be funny to vandalize a random article or two. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.109.0.203 (talkcontribs) 23:02, 23 March 2006

[edit] Popup reverts

Thanks for reverting bad edits like at Air pollution. But remember that revert tools should only be used in fairly clear cases of vandalism. I saw that you'd done a Popup revert of an edit to Ku Klux Klan which was not vandalism. Popup reverts don't allow you to explain the reason for the revert, which we should alwys do except in cases of vandalism. We can all get a bit trigger-happy with the revert button. Just don't get carried away. Cheers, -Will Beback 09:19, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

Not to worry. I've done the same thing on vandalism-prone articles. One becomes so accustomed to seeing bad edits that it's natural to expect them. I don't know whether the exact edit to KKK was in fact correct or justifiable, but I know the editor contributes in good faith. Anyway, carry on. -Will Beback 09:40, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] My user page

Thank you for the help reverting my pages. Much appreciated. tv316 09:54, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, I guess we've got each other covered. This vandal is being awfully considerate to share his vandalism equally. He's been reported and should be gone soon. tv316 09:58, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
You said it. That was the most persistant vandal I have ever seen. It was kind of fun rolling him back instantly :p. tv316 10:05, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

The page you edited is a disambiguation page, which is intended to guide users to the correct article. There is no need to republish facts on the disambiguation page - only the name and a short description (e.g. Russian painter, English cartographer) are required. Please edit the relevant biography page if you want to. Thanks. - Tangotango 04:39, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject Trains in Japan

No problem. I've listed it with other proposed Japan-related WikiProjects over on the WikiProject Japan page. --日本穣 07:10, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

It should be interesting, if a full project is developed. I slightly disagree with the wording that not every station should be translated from ja: to en: but some are definitely higher priority than others. Here is a link to some work I did last winter, a list of all of the Japanese stations, romajified (poorly, in many cases) by a perl script. It needs some cleaning, but the number of red links is an indication of how much we have to do! List of Railway Stations in Japan. There are some recent stations which may not be linked (where the romanization in the perl script was wrong, and the article was created with the correct romanization), etc. Neier 14:12, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] International University, Cambodia (possible violation)

hello!
I am the one who edits and add info about IU in Cambodia.
How can I fix the problem?
Please see my user info "user:fddfred". My full name is Federico Dumagpi, I was the one who started developing the website of IU, www.iu.edu.kh and the content of that website is mostly written by myself. I am currently the head of International Relations Office of the school.
Please help me resolve this problem.

Thank you!

hi Tangotango! For a personal reason, I would like to request permission from you to remove my full name written above. Is it possible? Thanks! Fddfred 11:28, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Railroads in Japan

Hi Tangotango,

Interesting proposal to form a project on Railroads in Japan. I'll probably join but not tonight! Incidentally, I have a photo or two related to josei sen'yo-sha on Commons. You might have seen them.

Thanks for the invitation!

[edit] Requesting translation help.

I'm requesting translational help (Japanese -> English) of a single word. The word is shooto, and it is a type of martial art/sport. I expect it to be "修斗" (shu-to?), and it should according to sources in the internet be translated into something like learn combat or acquire fighting, or something like that. However recently another user has been editing it, insisting that to, should be translated as a unit of volume. Could you please help out by participating in the discussion in Talk:Shooto. Thanks! --Marcus 12:05, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

I thank you for your assistance :] I'm still trying to understand exactly how it works though; does 修 translate/read into "achievement"?. However i'm also wondering if the translation you suggested could be considered original research?--Marcus 12:33, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
OK, I understand it much better now! I have one more question which I posted on Talk:Shooto. --Marcus 12:56, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
I've now corrected the sentence in the article according to the information you provided. Could you check it out if it makes sense? --Marcus 13:32, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome to Esperanza!

Welcome, Tangotango/March 2006, to Esperanza, the Wikipedia member association! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.

Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is the StressUnit, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.

In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Possibles.

I encourage you to take an active voice in the running of Esperanza. We have a small government system, headed by our Administrator general, Celestianpower, and guided by the Advisory Committee comprised of KnowledgeOfSelf, JoanneB, FireFox and Titoxd. The next set of elections will be in April, and I would be glad to see you vote, or even consider running for a position.

If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Celestianpower by email or talk page or the Esperanza talk page. Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!

Fetofs Hello! 12:15, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
You're welcome! You may want to get some space in your user page for an Esperanza banner. Good luck! Fetofs Hello! 12:23, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
