[edit] License tagging for Image:Early Spring Landscapes by Guo Xi.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Early Spring Landscapes by Guo Xi.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 19:09, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding Image:Terracota Army soldier.jpg

As I remembered, the museum forbids the use of camera. If so, then the picture would be illegal. Lightblade 16:33, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

No, photo is allowed (Tang Zu-Ming 01:36, 20 May 2007 (UTC))

[edit] Image:Beijing Forbidden City Imperial Guardian Lions.JPG

On this image, you release it into the public domain, but then "You can use this photo freely in Wikipedia within the topics on China." doesn't really mesh with that license. Do you understand that your image may be used commercially by other people on other websites or other forms? If you're fine with this, please edit the page and remove the sentence. If you aren't fine with it, please let me know or otherwise mark the image for deletion. Thank you for understanding. MECUtalk 13:28, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
