The Tanzanian Vlei Rat (Otomys lacustris) is a species of rodent in the Muridae family. It is found in Kenya, Malawi, and Tanzania. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical high-altitude grassland and swamps. It is threatened by habitat loss.
