Tankcsapda is a Hungarian punk rock band which is very popular among the younger generation. Tankcsapda was formed in 1989, in Hungary, Debrecen. The formation (drums, bass, guitars) started off as a run-of-the-mill punk band, but continuously expanded their repertoire with the different elements of rock music. Following the early years’ club shows and albums, the first milestone came about in 1995 with the release of their fourth album, which has become the first ever gold record for the band. From this moment on the band has never looked back. Ever since 1996, Tankcsapda has been voted “Band of the Year” a number of times by readers of music magazines of all styles, from pop to rock. In the past 8 years their albums have been named “Album of the Year” and have reached gold and platinum status. The band loves touring and they have been headlining the biggest Hungarian festivals for the past 10 years, and has toured Europe as well. Since the guys are known for their energetic live performances.
