The Tank Street Bridge is a $63 million pedestrian bridge currently under construction over the Brisbane River in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. [1][2] The bridge will connect Kurilpa Point in South Brisbane to Tank Street in the Brisbane CBD
Baulderstone Hornibrook Queensland Pty Ltd has been selected as the preferred tenderer to design and construct the bridge and the company’s design team includes Cox Rayner Architects and ARUP Engineers.
A sod turning ceremony was held at Kurilpa Park, South Brisbane on 12 December 2007. A public naming competition will be held in 2008.
The bridge will be a multiple-mast, cable-stay structure based on principles of tensegrity. It will feature two large viewing and relaxation platforms, two rest areas, and a continuous all-weather canopy for the entire length of the bridge. [3]
