Tango Paradiso

Tango Paradiso is one of Canada's premier tango ensembles. Since the group formed in 1998, they have performed at numerous festivals in Canada and the USA. Tango Paradiso's sound is a mixture between traditional and post-modern tango described as "Post Nuevo". Bandoneon/accordion player and band frontman Douglas Schmidt received a doctorate of music composition from the University of British Columbia in 1992. His compositions have been performed internationally and he has appeared on MuchMusic, Bravo TV, and has been featured on 5 Juno and CARAS award winning recordings. Tango Paradiso is represented by Turner Music & Events and is based in Vancouver, British Columbia.
