Tanglefoot is a folk band from Ontario, Canada. Formed in the early 1980s by schoolteachers Joe Grant, Bob Wagar, and Tim Rowat to play traditional music, they have become a five-piece band playing largely original music. They regularly tour Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

Tanglefoot's 2007/8 lineup is: Steve Ritchie (guitar/whistle), the band's longest-serving member, Al Parrish (double bass), Terry Young (multi-instrumentalist inc guitar, mandolin, banjo, harmonica, whistle), newest member Sandra Swannell (fiddle and viola), and Rob Ritchie (piano), returning after a five-year hiatus to replace departing pianist Bryan Weirmier. All the members sing and all of them write songs for the band.

The group performs to packed live audiences across North America and the UK. With song topics largely derived from history, mostly Canadian, this band captivates listeners with folk tales about moments such as the Frank Slide, The War of 1812 and Laura Secord, and the tale of Sir John A Macdonald's wife Agnes Macdonald riding the cowcatcher across Canada.
