Tane Samuels is a fictional character in New Zealand's longest running soap opera Shortland Street. He has been portrayed by Dominic Ona-Ariki since 2007.

Tane first arrived in ferndale with his cousin Wiremu Potae to live with his uncle TK Samuels in July 2007[1] just after the death of Claire Solomon. They left sortly after but returned in October to attend music school.[2] In March 2008 he left music school. James Scott has been encouraging him to enter nursing training.

[edit] Car Crash
On April 14, 2008 Tane was seriously injuried after being hit by Wiremu's car, which Wiremu lost control of after a drag race.[3] There is a chance Tane may never walk again.
