Tanda is a town in Gujrat District in the Pakistani province of Punjab. It is also a Union Council, an administrative subdivision of Gujrat Tehsil.[1]

Tanda is located at . Tanda is the name of a small locality, which is a well known city of Gujrat. A village located 5 km near Tanda named Barila Sharif. That village famous for saint and Graves, there was a famous grave that is 90 yard long. All over the Punjab people visited that place.

The population is over 99% Muslim. Most people in the town speak Punjabi, though almost all of them can also speak national language of Pakistan, Urdu.

History of Tanda is very old, before partition of Pakistan and India this town had a population of Sikhs however after partition they left and many Gujjar tribes from Kashmir migrated here. The 60 years history of Tanda after partition not complete with out the family of (Late) Chaudhry Ghulam Mustafa Qamar. He is the master mind Politicion and Father Of Gujjarism. In the area he is called Father of Gujjar's for his work and services for Gujjar tribes .
