Tanawat Wansom is one of Asia-Pacific's leading authority on media, television, production, and luxury service. Mr. Wansom was executive of Disney's Buena Vista Pictures Marketing and Ogilvy & Mather Advertising in Los Angeles, USA prior to his relocation to the Asia-Pacific region in 1995. Since then, he has worked for Asia's media giant, STAR Group [1] (or STAR TV), as vice president in charge of regional development in Southeast Asia. He was responsible for distribution and marketing of leading channels in the regions such as STAR Movies, STAR World, National Geographic, Channel V, ESPN, STAR Sports, STAR Plus, Phoenix Chinese Channel, etc. He was Managing Director of Channel V Thailand before starting a venture with his partners in 2003 representing media companies such as Sony Pictures Entertainment (AXN Action TV and Animax), Bloomberg Television, and many other channels. In 2005, Mr. Wansom helped to launch R1 Club[2], a luxury and executive service company providing services to the wealthy and the elites of Asia-Pacific.
