Tanade Darood is one of the five sons of the Somali Darod tribe. The Tanade Darood live across Somalia mainly Puntland region of Somalia, Various towns in the Jubbada Hoose, Kismayo, ElDer District of Galguduud, Buurhakaba district of Bay region, and the Qoryooley town of Shabeellaha Hoose. They also live in the Somali Region of Ethiopia, Dudub district which is about forty-five kilometres across the Somali border from Galdogob in Mudug. And Dire Dawa, Jijiga, and imey. They also reside in various towns of the Oromia Region bordering the Somali Region.
The Sons of Tanade Darood are:
- Leelkase Tanade: Leelkase is one of the major subclans of Tanade Darood.
- Dabare Tanade live mainly in Diinsoor District of Bay Region. And have separated from Tanade tribe around 400 years ago, during the war in North Eastern Somalia.
- Diiftire Tanade
- Korshe Tanade: the Korshe reside mainly in Somali Region and parts of Oromia.
- Suhurre Tanade: Suhurre reside mainly in Eyl District of the Nugaal region of Somalia.
- Juus Tanade
- Wara Daqa Tanade: The Wara Daqa reside mainly in Somali Region and parts of Oromia.
