I agree with your removal of the text Wiglaf. (I was the one that added the last paragraph about "they may depict something else").
I am actually a little sceptical about the authencity of some of the carvings. They have existed here for at least 2,000 years -- what says that no one during that time would try and imitate them? I know I would have.

- I have been to Tanumshede and have never seen a fjord nearby (unless you consider 10 kilometers nearby), neither have I seen the mention of "fjord" in any of the literature I acquired while at Tanumshede or the Vitlycke Museum there. Of course. some people prefer to revert before discussing, although I personally prefer to discuss before reverting. Fred-Chess 21:30, August 31, 2005 (UTC)

- 1) If you check out a map, you'll find a fjord nearby, close to the "Tanum road". Are you certain that there aren't petroglyphs along the fjord)?
- 2) The land has been constantly rising since the Ice Age. Are you sure that they were not carved along a contemporary fjord?

- I agree that they were carved along a contemporary fjord (no longer due to land elevation), but if so they should be mentioned as such. I don't think there are carvings along the current coastal line because the land was under sea level 2000 years ago.
- Furthermore, the Tanumshede World Heritage Area stretches from Tanumshede down south, and does not cover the coastal area.
