Background: I grew up at Germany's North Sea coast, but have been working in the US since 1999.

Professional: I studied biochemistry and molecular biology and am currently teaching at college level. Classes I've taught or am teaching include Bioinformatics, Botany, and Genetics.

Online hobbies: I have been active in fandom based on Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern® book series since 2000 and have been an ODP editor from 2005 to 2007.
