Tampa City Council

The Tampa City Council, the legislative body of Tampa, Florida, consists of seven members, three of which are elected at large. The City Council is responsible for enacting ordinances and resolutions that the Mayor of Tampa administers.
Election of city council members occur every four years, mainly during odd-numbered years. All councilmembers' terms begin April 1. The current term of the current council members will end on March 31, 2011.[1]

The first three districts are At-Large Districts, which means that the districts are represented citywide.[2] Districts 4 thru 7 are divided.
The current makeup of the council, as of September 2007, are:

This district includes Downtown Tampa and Ybor City.[4]
