Tamarack, Edmonton

Tamarack is a new neighborhood in south east Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It is bounded on the north by Anthony Henday Drive, on the south by 23 Avenue, on the west by 17 Street, and on the east by highway 14. It stresses to have "a new perspective on community living". The new development in south east Edmonton will be the home to classic and move up homes, while limiting the number of multi family developments in the area. It will be one of the few newer areas that isn't home to several condos, townhomes, or duplexes.

As of right now the only multi family developments are duplexes that line the east border of the community. Tamarack is one of Dundee's (the developers) most beautiful communities and will have 620 acres of developed land, including over 67 acres of green spaces. They will include trails, ponds and stream courses, parks, playgrounds and natural reserves.(1)

In 2008 there is set to be commencement of a new school that will house grades K-9.

Directly north west of the community is situated an urban plaza called "Rio Meadows" it is a shopping district that has many banks, The Home Depot, Winners, Starbucks, Swiss Chalet and many other stores for easy convenience.

As of October 21, 2007, the City of Edmonton map utility contained virtually no data on this area. As this area develops, more data should become available.
