Tamar is a fictional war novel for children by Mal Peet, published on October 3, 2005 by Walker Books Ltd. Tamar won the Carnegie Medal award in 2005 and Wirral paper Back of the Year in 2007. The novel is aimed at teens (14+). The novel was first published in North America in February 2007 by Candlewick Press. On 7th March, Mal Peet met with some of the teenagers who took part in the Wirral paper Back of the year.
